Morrill Plastics

Facilities

We are located in a manufacturing facility currently containing 60,000 square feet of manufacturing, warehouse, and office space. Our site contains nearly ten acres of land and is owned by the corporation. All utilities are available at our location and rail siding to our facility is now completed. Our plant is located within the city limits of the Town of Erwin, which provides us with full police and fire protection. We are a division of Morrill Motors, Inc., a vertically integrated manufacturing company.

Equipment

Our injection molding machines are all current models made by Engel and Van Dorn. The oldest equipment was purchased in 1989, and the majority of the machines were bought after 1993. All machines are closed loop, with full computer control capabilities. Three 240,000-pound material silos, along with full material drying capabilities, compliment our material handling system, which feeds each press from a centralized blending and conveying center.

Materials

We have molding experience with a wide variety of materials: all commodity resins including (1) both high and low density polyethylene, (2) .4 melt to 35 melt polypropylene, (3) general purpose, and both medium and high impact polystyrene, (4) most engineering grade resins including: (a) valox, (b) Noryl (ppo), (c) nylon 6, 6/6, 6/12, 11, unfilled and glass filled to 33%, (d) rynite (pbt), (e) tpr, (f) abs, (g) polycarbonate, (h) accetal, and (i) pvc.

Quality Assurance

Our Quality Motto states: “If You Do Not Make It Right The First Time, Someone Else Will.” We brought world class quality to Morrill Plastics, by becoming an ISO 9002 registered firm in 1994 and ISO 9001 in 2003. The disciplines needed to comply with the ISO quality standards have made us a better managed company, top to bottom.
